At AmEuro Construction, we believe that the highest level of craftsmanship is often found in the details you don't see. We recently wrapped up a residential feature wall transformation that perfectly highlights our team’s ability to coordinate multiple trades—demolition, electrical engineering, framing, and fine finish carpentry—into one seamless execution.

Here is a look at how we took this living room fireplace from a standard, dated layout to an ultra-modern focal point.
Phase 1: Cleared for a Clean Slate
Every great custom build relies on a flawless foundation. Our crew began by completely stripping down the existing wall. We demoed the outdated floating cabinets, shelving, heavy mantel, television, and the lower tile work. Getting down to the bare studs allowed us to precisely plan the structural framing and recessed elements required for the new design.
Phase 2: Integrated Structural Engineering & Low Voltage
The hallmark of high-end modern design is absolute minimalism, which means completely eliminating visible wires, bulky brackets, and exposed plugs.
Recessed Media Boxes: We framed and built a custom back box directly into the wall to house the TV mounting bracket and soundbar, allowing them to sit tight and flush along the fireplace insert.
Low-Voltage Rework: Our team reworked the electrical and low-voltage wiring, constructing dedicated recessed back boxes on both sides of the fireplace to power clean, integrated LED tape lighting designed to spotlight custom artwork.

Phase 3: Fine Carpentry & Architectural Continuity
Once the hidden utilities were secured, we reinstalled and patched the drywall to restore a flawless surface. From there, our finish carpenters took over:
Custom Millwork: We installed rich, floor-to-ceiling wood paneling on either side of the fireplace to add texture and depth to the room.
Crown Molding Replication: Because the new wood panels extended the depth of the wall, standard trim wouldn’t align. Our team meticulously recreated and modified the room's existing crown molding by hand, ensuring the new feature wall flows effortlessly into the home’s original architecture.
Phase 4: The Flawless Finish
To tie the entire project together, we completed full drywall repairs and handled all finish painting across the affected walls and newly modified crown molding. With the paint cured, we mounted the new custom art pieces, hooked up the LED accent lighting, and reinstalled the TV and soundbar assembly.
