Overview

This modern fireplace renovation transformed a standard living room wall into a sophisticated architectural centerpiece. The project combined demolition, electrical planning, custom framing, finish carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and final installation work to create a clean, integrated feature wall.

With a focus on both design and functionality, the renovation concealed the technical components behind the wall while highlighting the finished materials on the surface. The result is a polished living room focal point that feels intentional, modern, and fully customized to the home.

Challenge

The main challenge was converting an outdated fireplace wall into a clean, high-end feature wall without leaving visible cords, bulky brackets, or awkward transitions. The existing layout included floating cabinets, shelving, a mantel, and lower tile work that made the space feel crowded and dated.

In addition, the new design required careful coordination between framing, electrical work, low-voltage lighting, drywall, custom wood paneling, and crown molding. Because the added paneling changed the depth of the wall, the existing trim could not simply be reused as-is. Every detail needed to be modified and finished so the new wall looked like a natural part of the home.

Solution &
Results

AmEuro Construction began by removing the existing cabinets, shelving, mantel, and tile work to create a clean slate for the new design. From there, the team built a custom recessed back box for the TV mounting system and soundbar, allowing the entertainment components to sit neatly within the fireplace wall.

The electrical and low-voltage systems were carefully rerouted and concealed behind the drywall. Dedicated back boxes were added on both sides of the fireplace to power LED tape lighting designed to highlight the client’s custom artwork.

Once the technical work was hidden, the team restored and patched the drywall before installing new wood panels on both sides of the fireplace. To complete the transition, the existing crown molding was recreated and modified to match the new wall depth, ensuring a seamless architectural finish.

The project was completed with professional painting, LED lighting installation, artwork mounting, and reinstallation of the TV and soundbar. The finished result is a refined, functional, and modern fireplace wall that elevates the entire living room while maintaining the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind the surface.
